FloorsCalc provides free, simple tools that help homeowners, DIY users, landlords, property managers, and installers estimate flooring material quantities.

Our approach

Every calculator shows its formula, default material allowance, rounding method, and limitations. We aim for useful planning—not false certainty. Users remain responsible for checking measurements, manufacturer instructions, and final quantities.

How FloorsCalc works

FloorsCalc is a planning and estimating resource. The calculators use standard geometric relationships—such as length × width for a rectangular area—and material coverage relationships appropriate to the estimate. User-entered room dimensions, product dimensions, roll width, and manufacturer package coverage are used only where they apply to the selected calculator.

Calculations keep precision through the intermediate steps. Displayed measurements are formatted for readability, while indivisible purchase units such as tiles, planks, boxes, and cartons are rounded up when a whole unit is required. The result separates measured area, added allowance, required area, and packaged coverage so those values are not mistaken for one another.

Extra-material percentages are adjustable because cuts, breakage, room shape, patterns, installation methods, and repair-stock needs vary. The site explains formulas, examples, assumptions, and limits so a result can be checked instead of appearing as an unexplained number.

Before purchasing, verify the exact product packaging, stated coverage, and installation instructions, along with conditions at the project site. A flooring installer or professional measurement may be needed for complex layouts, seams, stairs, patterned materials, or other conditions that an area calculator cannot model.

What we do not provide

We do not sell flooring, provide quotes, estimate prices, or replace product-specific advice from a manufacturer or qualified installer.
